The proposal aims to be an opportunity to enhance the historic area connected with the other episodes of the Cassarate system (connection between Lake, Ciani Park, SUPSI Campus, Campus Marzio Nord, University and City Centre).

Precisely because the area is located in a strategic place it is thought of as a sort of “citadel in the city”, defined in its perimeter, conceived in a permeable and passable way while respecting its original matrix from the industrial character.

The plan is conceived as an open and living space, in which value is given to the relationship between collective buildings and open spaces. The new permeable flooring, interrupted by a series of new high-trunk plantings, also defines the access routes and connection with the entire lot and the enclosed garden in contact with the Lambertenghi school.

The new buildings are located south of the lot. The low volume, used as restaurant and literary cafe, reaffirms the shape of historical volumes’ section and emphasizes the perimeter of the original morphology of the historical area, placing itself at the center of gravity of the area.
Next to it stands the volume of the campus, rotated according to the urban mesh.
